Filmscope Entertainment is an Australian based production company that makes high quality genre films for worldwide audiences. The company’s most recent feature film is The Reckoning (2014) and stars Luke Hemsworth, Jonathan LaPaglia, Hanna Mangan-Lawrence and Viva Bianca.
The Reckoning has been sold in multiple territories around the world including the US, Australia, Turkey, Scandinavia, Portugal, Korea, Thailand, South Africa, Mexico and others. The film was released theatrically in Australia in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane (limited) September 5, 2014, followed by a DVD and VOD release across all platforms including; Big Pond Movies, iTunes, Google Play, You Tube Movies, Fetch TV, Foxtel on-demand, Presto, Quickflix and others.
Filmscope’s previous films include Needle (2010) and Crush (2009). Both films have met with international success with sales agent Lightning Entertainment selling the film into over 82 countries including these key territories; Lionsgate for North America, Telepool for Germany, High Fliers for the United Kingdom, Playarte for Brazil and Shochiku for Japan. Needle was released on 62 screens in Turkey where it landed at No.4 at the box office July 29th, 2011 and ran for 13 weeks grossing $260,000. The film was acquired by Sony for Australia and had a limited theatrical run before its home entertainment release.
Filmscope’s first feature, Crush, a Supernatural Thriller has also been sold in a number of territories worldwide including Phase 4 Films for North America, Stealth for the UK, Explosive for Germany, Playarte for Brazil and Horizon One for Australia.

Deidre Kitcher (Dee)
Dee is a film producer and writer who has applied her business experience to help establish Filmscope Entertainment as a film production company with a focus on quality genre films for worldwide audiences. She has produced The Reckoning (2014), budget $2.3 Mil, Needle (2010) budget of $2.5 million and Crush (2009) budget $1.5 million, along with the short film Repulsion (2007). All feature films came in on budget and have been sold internationally in a number of territories. Deidre is an accountant with a solid understanding of film production and legislation revolving around the Australian Producer Offset. She is currently writing an adaptation of a popular US Sci Fi book series released in the 90’s.
John V. Soto
John is a writer and director who has directed three feature films, The Reckoning (2014), Needle (2011) and Crush (2009). He won Best Director for his film “The Reckoning” as the British Independent Film Festival (2014). John is currently working on several upcoming Filmscope projects.
